Some of these sites are new to me so thanks for taking the time to list them and include your opinion of the Network Rating. I have been thinking of doing a post like this so I hope you don't mind if I ping yours as a reference to what others think.

Hi Josh,

Great rundown of a few useful sites, but how do you actually use them to network. I understand catching up with people you already know, like you use MySpace and Facebook for, but what about others. I came to this site through MyBlogLog (thanks for visiting my site, by the way) but I'm not sure how it is best used to link up with people you don't know.

I'd love some tips on that!

Susan, I'm glad you found the post to be helpful!
Phil, you're on your way to using the sites already for networking purposes. Would you have found the site without MBL? A great way to meet others in your niche is by reading their blogs. The MBL widget will show the webmaster that you were on the site, and they many come back to visit yours. I find out about a ton of blogs through it and introduce myself to those people I find interesting. Does that help at all?

Almost every thing we do today is spam period.
Be it SMM, trying to promote something on a social networking site bla bla bla.

There is nothing new we can do today which is actually 100% ethical and morale.
One thing is for sure if we dont try to catch up soon. Optimization will defiantly see its doom. If Google thinks one step ahead we need to go 100 if we want to win this war.

Well i don't know about you guys but i have 1800+ friends and growing i get close to 30 friend request every morning when i wake up.
None of them are spam. They are requests from various groups from various niches. Its just about were you start. you get it right you will be on your way.

If you develop a really strong profile. I'm sure it can be used well for SMM.
My target is at lest 5k active friends before mid 2009.
I'll see you there.
